Long dream (part 2)

I stayed inside the shrine for about 2 weeks, spending most of the time to go around and find if there was still another chamber hidden under the back hall. On the 15th day or so, I opened a secret way to go down the underground chamber. Unlike the magnificent structure upstairs, the underground chamber looked more like a cave that had not been exploited. There were walls of rock and many open holes that no one would know they led to if fallen in. I remembered it to be very cold and wet with water dripping down the walls. I walked into that cave with extreme caution. On coming closer, I figured the walls were not really rocks since they had words and symbols written on. I took a tour to examine all the walls and worked out that the symbols were actually zodiac signs. Some were missing. Either because I wanted to test my memory of astronomy or I was following some unknown intuition or both, I decided to pick a small piece of pebble and began to fill in the blank space between the walls. As I am only interested in Saggit (which is my sign LOL), I had quite a hard time ordering the signs and recalling the exact shapes of each symbol. It took me half a day or so. On the moment I put the pebble down, the ground suddenly shuddered then the whole thing turned into an earthquake. Rocks was falling down on my head so I hustled back up. In the main halls, things were even worse. Insect corpses hung on the ceiling under the effect of the quake started to fall down. Each, heavy as stone, fell down and created several cracks on the floor. With my head kept down, I was running and dashing like hell to avoid them. The ground was shaking like crazy and things seemed to be collapsing the moment I reached the front hall. I turned my back to see the chaos behind then to my great astonishment, the insects revived. The hard covers fractured and many weird insects came out, thrashing. Getting caught at the scene, I completely forgot about escaping and the instant my awareness came back, the exit gate was blocked with boulders. Wretched and exhausted, I had no strength left in my legs and the whole body just crumpled. From then on, facing the back hall, I sat next to the boulders witnessing the resurrection of something i had never known of. Through the rain of rocks falling down, I remembered looking at this individual insect, biggest of all. It was shiny black with amber huge luminous eyes glaring straight at me. I could not get my eye out of its glare. And like those being hypnotized in TV shows you might have watched, I gradually lost my consciousness.

When I was finally awake, I found myself in a wooden boat on a submerged city. The water flow was so  massive that i could not control the direction of the boat. As I was struggling with the paddles, the boat passed an area which seemed to be the highest floor of a tower. A group of people could be spotted there. I tried to make the boat go back in vain. The more I got further from that group of people the more I felt drained off every drop of energy; thus i threw the paddles aside and closed my eyes... relaxing. Then suddenly there came a feeling that any would feel if s/he had ever ridden on a rollercoaster. Going from a low place then in a blink of an eye, took off to the sky. The feeling of defying gravity, that is. When I slowly opened my eyes again, I realized my whole body was hovering in the air. And like an amateur, I flailed my arms and legs in a swimming style for fear that i would fall down. And again, like any amateur, I did fall, but not all the way down. When my face was about to sink in water, time kinda stopped with my body hanging upside down in the air. I breathed a sigh of relief and struggled to find my way back up. I could not soar as high as I wanted to, just hovering over the water surface like a fly fed with nothing for a week. After that, I "flew" my way back to the area with people i had seen earlier; nevertheless, as I reached the place there was no one left. Kinda frustrated, I flew around the area to look for any traces. The whole time I remained a constant distance with the ground, which was not very high, which also meant someone taller than 1m5 could easily grabbed my foot while standing. Speak of the devil and he doth appear. Out of the blue, a cold chill ran down my spine, thus, instinctively, I turned back to see that a zombie was holding my ankle. I shook my leg very hard to make it lose grip while trying to soar higher but stupid gravity just had to hold everyone down. Ultimately, I was left with no other choice but flying as fast as I could towards the water in hope that the zombie would stay away and let me go. All at once, the insect's amber eyes popped out in my head with its intense glare. My body felt lighter and up the sky I went, laughing at the zombie's angry growl.
